Main purpose of role

Duties and responsibilities

Nuclear Technical Lead : UK wide

With the full support and backing of a €1.4 billion/annum parent Company, Altran Praxis continues to increase its support and commitment to the nuclear industry. Already providing high integrity and mission critical systems and safety solutions to Nuclear Defence, Decommissioning and Nuclear Energy clients the Company is now directly involved with the Generic Design Assessment of control systems for new reactors planned for the UK. The ongoing requirement for decommissioning services, improvements to defence facilities and the likely civil new build programme have generated a number of new positions within Altran Praxis’s expanding nuclear division.

Main purpose of role

The role requires flexibility in applying the safety-related skills to a variety of industry sectors although the prime aim will be to assist Altran Praxis in developing its offering within the nuclear market.
  • The role will cover all aspects of the safety life-cycle, and, subject to competency and experience (less experience would indicate less coverage or less autonomy), could include any or all of the following:
  • Writing safety plans.
  • Chairing and minuting HAZOPs.
  • Developing safety targets and apportioning those targets across a system.
  • Developing hazard logs.
  • Identifying and interpreting SILs.
